I am very proud of the fact that I am an artist and
an art teacher. It helps me observe what is in the surroundings
and create something special. My mission is to give others the same
pleasure that I enjoy through all this artwork.
As a teacher, I get to boost the knowledge of
my students by teaching them about the different developmental stages
of art, about famous artists, their masterpieces and their techniques,
about instillation, the technique of art and sculpture, and about
new creation, ideologies and new trends in the art world. I do this
with pleasure and it has been a rewarding experience for me.
I am also interested in improving my knowledge
on this subject, learn new art techniques and movements. In addition,
I would like to experiment with painting techniques used overseas
and learn more about their art history.

Sri Lankan painting / Kandian style painting
& sea coastal style painting in upcountry art, here duplicating
as well.
It is important to mention that
the Sri Lankan traditional artwork is equivalent to any other contemporary
art work in the world. But sadly these temple painting are fading
due to various reasons. I personally think that it is our responsibility
to duplicate these treasures & preserve for our future generations.
The above paintings are a few of such Buddhist & Hindu temple
paintings (oil on canvas) in the Kandyan era which I have duplicated.
Painting Sri Lanka/ Water Color Painting
Water colour paintings are my other favourite mode
of painting. I love the techniques like wet on wet and the quality
of transparency since it generates quality work. In addition, the
‘nature loving’ quality of water colour paintings and
the flexibility in water colours makes this mode more interesting.
Painting Sri Lanka / Modern Art Styles
Through modern art and stylize illustrations, one
should be able to break all the traditional barriers and freely
create a concept or idea through his/ her creation. In fact, this
is my most favourite approach.
Sketching exercises
Human figures, nature drawing and nudes are essential
for any kind of art since these are basics for beginner level artists
and any art students.
Sculpturing
Using the different, but true medium, creating a sculpture
in a correct space makes the experience memorable. I use the practice
and the proficiency I gather from sculpting to enhance my other
art works.
